Faith Ranch Campout Update

This Saturday, February 3rd, we meet at Parkwood at 7 a.m. for departure by 7:30 a.m. for Faith Ranch and horseback riding.   Everyone should arrive having eaten a good breakfast.  Lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will be provided by Faith Ranch;  a Saturday night snack will be provided by the Troop.   Scouts and adults should bring sleeping bags or bed rolls.  Bring heavy shoes/boots and clothing appropriate for the weather!  It may will be cold and possibly wet!

Tuesday, January 30 Meeting at Sportsman’s Warehouse

Our January 30th meeting will be at the Sportsman’s Warehouse at the intersection of Camp Horne Road and Mt. Nebo Road, at 6:30. A member of the staff of the Sportsman’s Warehouse will give us a presentation about knife sharpening. Feel free to come late if you need to. Sportmen’s Warehouse closes at 8. We will not meet at Parkwood tomorrow night at all.

Sportman’s Warehouse offers a 5% discount on at least certain items in their store to Scouts with scout cards.

Seabase Meeting Tuesday, January 23

There will be a Seabase meeting Tuesday, January 23 at 7 pm at Parkwood.  Air travel and fundraising will be the topics of discussion.

2008 High Adventure Meeting – January 16 at 7 pm

For scouts who will be 14 years old and the rank of First Class by July of 2008:

Don’t miss the first meeting for the 2008 High Adventure Canoe Trip. It’s Tuesday the 16th of January, before the meeting, at 7:00. We’ll give you all the facts in case you missed them, and will be looking for some scout leaders to help plan the trip. All parents are welcome.

Faith Ranch Horseback Riding Campout February 3-4

The Faith Ranch Horseback Riding Campout is scheduled for February 3-4.  Payment is due by Tuesday, January 23.  Further information and the permission slip are located here.

Troop Meeting Tuesday, January 2

Our first meeting of 2007 will be Tuesday, January 2 at 7:30 at Parkwood. We’ll allow some time for scout skills, (as we will each first Tuesday of the month this spring) there will be a presentation about God and Country awards and at about 8:15, we’ll have the Scouts vs. Parents Dodgeball Rematch. All Scouts and all parents are encouraged to attend. You, Moms and Dads, are needed as players and as cheerleaders for the other adults —and to give comfort to you, Scouts.

Klondike Derby Saturday, January 20 at Camp Guyasuta

This year’s Klondike Derby will be held Saturday, January 20 at Camp Guyasuta.  There will be 6 events, including the Sled Race.

This will be a day trip.  We will meet at Parkwood at 7 am.  Lunch will be served by the Troop leaders.  After the event, we will return to Parkwood for pizza.  The cost of this event is $10 per Scout.

Camp Spencer – Kon-O-Kwee Campout January 12-14
