Troop 17 is celebrating its 80th Anniversary this year! We’re planning a special celebration at Parkwood on Saturday, June 6, so save the date!

Dear Scouts and Scouters:
You are cordially invited to the 80th Anniversary of Troop 17. That’s right! The Boy Scouts of America is preparing to celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2010 and Troop 17 in Allison Park, PA is celebrating, too. Whether you were with us just long enough to learn to build a fire or you stayed with the program into your adult life, we know you had fun and probably now realize how important Scouting is to our youth and our Country.
Reconnect with all that at our Anniversary Celebration Reunion on June 6, 2009 at 11:00am. The reunion will be held on the Parkwood UP Church grounds and will feature a free luncheon as well as games for the kids, skill demonstrations and noteworthy speakers. You will once again see the best of Scouting. Plus, since this invitation is going to every Scout and Scouter ever registered with Troop 17, you are bound to run into an old friend or twenty.
Mark the date on your calendar. Bring your family. Call your old compatriots. We have done our best to compile addresses for everyone from the charters filed over the years, but are bound to miss someone. Contact us right away at wgaida@consolidated.net or one of the phone numbers below to say if you received this and tentatively whether or not you can come. We will send a second mailing with more details as well as the names of our “lost Scouts”. We hope you will join that search party. If you want to donate your talents or resources toward making this a truly memorable event, please contact us. We know you remain loyal to your old Troop. We sincerely hope to see you there.
